Sandra Bethke

As a PhD student (cohort 2021) at the Psychology of Language Department, I investigate individual differences in language processing. Under the supervision of prof. Antje Meyer and dr. Florian Hintz, I'm developing the Individual Differences in Language Skills Test Battery (IDLaS) for German speakers, which is a tool to explore what kind of linguistic as well as general-cognitive skills influence the way individuals produce and comprehend language.

Before starting at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics, I obtained a B.A. in Applied Linguistics at TU Dortmund (Germany) and M.A. in Neuro- and Pycholinguistics at HHU Düsseldorf (Germany) at prof. Peter Indefrey's Lab. In my master's thesis, I investigated whether individual differences in spelling and vocabulary knowledge modulate morphological priming effects.
