Mini Sign Language Workshop by MLD

On June 3rd, 2024, the Multimodal Language Department (MLD) hosted a vibrant sign language workshop.

Organized by Asli Ozyurek and Beyza Sumer, the event aimed to highlight the latest research advances in corpus linguistics, computer vision, and language acquisition within Turkish and Italian sign languages.

This event also established a platform for sign language researchers from MLD and other universities in the Netherlands and countries such as Turkey and China, to come together and share their ongoing research.

Thanks to our own and visiting deaf and hearing researchers, the workshop facilitated fruitful discussions, leading to the first steps towards future collaborations.
