Newcomer: Ferdinand Paar

Ferdinand Paar is a Bachelor’s student in Artificial Intelligence at Radboud University, with a background in Mechanical Engineering. His interests lie in Human-Computer Interaction, Machine Learning, and Psycholinguistics.

He recently joined the Multimodal Language Department as a Machine Learning Student Assistant, where he will be working with Prof. Aslı Özyürek, Mounika Kanakanti, and her team. He will be helping develop and test machine learning models for gesture segmentation and eye-tracking in video data, as well as preprocessing video datasets, collaborating on multimodal language research, and contributing to the development of kinematic analysis tools.

Ferdinand moved to the Netherlands in 2023. Outside of work and studies, he enjoys bouldering and cycling.
