Newcomer: Martina Mellana

Martina Mellana from Italy, with a Bachelor’s in Speech and Language Therapy from Turin university, is doing her Master's in Cognitive Neuroscience in the university of Milan.  In Italy, she worked as a speech therapist with adult patients with communication disorders and she is involved in a research project to promote their social inclusion. Mellana has already done her internship at MPI in 2022, studying gestures in aphasia patients. She's now part of the Multimodal Language Department, working with Sharice Clough on her thesis about gestures in people with memory deficits.
