Ella Lattenkamp will receive this prestigious award for her research demonstrating the capacity for the pale spear-nosed bat to perform vocal learning.

Ella carried out her award winning investigations during her time as a PhD student at the MPI for Psycholinguistics under the supervision of Simon E. Fisher, Lutz Wiegrebe, and Sonja C. Vernes, and defended her dissertation in April 2020. Her thesis is entitled 'Vocal Learning in the Pale Spear-Nosed Bat, Phyllostomus discolor'.
