Otto Hahn Medal for Sara Busquets Estruch

Each year, the Max Planck Society awards up to 30 young scientists and researchers for outstanding scientific achievements with the Otto Hahn Medal. Sara Busquets Estruch of the MPI for Psycholinguistics will receive this prestigious award for her work that has uncovered novel molecular pathways implicated in severe developmental speech and language disorders.
Sara carried out her award winning investigations during her time as a PhD student at the MPI’s Language & Genetics Department under the supervision of Simon Fisher and Sarah Graham, and defended her dissertation in June 2018. Her thesis is entitled Characterization of transcription factors in monogenic disorders of speech and language.
The Otto Hahn Medal will be awarded to Sara on the occasion of the Annual Meeting of the Max Planck Society in an official ceremony during the meeting of the Human Sciences Section in Hamburg on June 26, 2019.
