I am a PhD student in the Psychology of Language Department at the MPI, where I study how poorly formed language is in conversation. I investigate what type of deviations and disfluencies speakers produce and the influence of individual differences on this production. I am also interested in why listeners seem unaffected in their perception of this poorly formed language.
Previous Education
Before starting my PhD in Nijmegen, I obtained a B.A. and M.A. in Linguistics at the University of Düsseldorf, and afterwards a joint M.Sc. in Clinical Linguistics at the Universities of Groningen, Potsdam, and Eastern Finland (EMCL+). I did my internship and thesis at Dr. Mira Goral's Neurolinguistics Lab at Lehman College and CUNY. In my thesis project, I investigated how strokes in multilingual people can lead to phonological transfer between their different languages.
