Florian Hintz

Florian Hintz is senior investigator at the Psychology of Language Department. He coordinates the Individual Differences in Language Skills cluster, which is largely funded by the Language in Interaction consortium.

Curriculum Vitae

After obtaining a Bachelor's and a Master's degree in Linguistics from Leipzig University, Florian conducted his doctoral studies at the Max Planck Institute for Psycholinguistics. Then, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Center for Language Studies at Radboud University before returning to the Max Planck Institute.

Florian has broad interests in the mechanisms that underlie language production and comprehension. However, the focus of his recent work has been on

  • Individual differences in language and general cognitive skills
  • Prediction during language comprehension
  • Speech comprehension in noisy environments
