Human social behaviour is genetically complex and multiple social traits are modestly to strongly heritable. However, our knowledge of the underlying genetic mechanisms is sparse. In my PhD, I investigate the genetic basis of human social behaviour and related phenotypes and disorders, as captured by common genetic variation.

Among my PhD projects, I am involved in the study of genetic heterogeneity in autism and the social behaviour meta-analysis in the EArly Genetics and Lifecourse Epidemiology (EAGLE) consortium. Next to this, I also have an interest in the study of complex trait- and population genetics.
